Survey and Assessment of Masonry Buildings before Modernization

This thesis deals with the exploration and evaluation of historic masonry building. The researched building was built in the 20th 20th century. Is located in the premises of the Philosophical Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno. During preparation for the planned modernization of the survey was conducted several objects of the university complex. In this work, however, we consider only the building named "C". It will be processed by selected diagnostic method. The findings will then serve as a basis for static analysis and follow-up activities associated with modernization.

Exploration and evaluation of historic timber roof of the building

My dissertation is based on the appraisal of wooden roof construction in baroque church Nanebevzetí Panny Marie in Vranově nad Dyjí. The main reason of this appraisal was preserving the church´s interior which was newly reconstructed with high historical value. The dissertation includes also the rehabilitation solution. The appraisal was based on the research witch used sense and instrumental methods. In the first part were found out all size of each construction´s parts and was established the type of rafters´ systém. Then the research solved some impaired wooden parts and their reasons. For suitable rehabilitation solution was defined the transition between well and impaired part. The best rehabilitation solution is the construction solution by the conditions using further procedures, e.g. preventive chemical protection.

The Renovation of the Main station in Brno

This thesis deals with restoration and repurposing of main train station building in Brno. It consists of Building permit documentation and part of Documentation for execution of the project, both of which are based on architectonic study created as part of course AG33 - Architectural Design Studio III. during previous studies. The building is situated in Brno city centre, district Brno – Střed, cadastral area (municipality of) Město Brno (610003). The project assumes that the main train station will be moved ca 800 meters to the south, leaving the current train station building unused. The project incorporates a conceptual study of a new purpose for the historic building and nearby railway junction, including its interconnection with near surroundings. Detailed solution describes a new hotel building, which will replace current newest wing of the train station. The main idea of the transformation is to keep as much of the historic building and valuable structures as possible, avoid increasing the building footprint and bring new life to the building and city centre. The attractiveness of the site will be enhanced by a new park located in the area currently occupied by the railway junction. The park will be connected to the 2nd floor of the Tesco shopping centre and Vaňkovka shopping gallery by a pedestrian bridge. Parking capacity will be provided by a new underground car park built below the railway junction. Additionally, modern version of the original tower above the main hall, which was destroyed during World War II, will be built. The new hotel building, as well as all repairs and changes (new tower) will follow a modern style, while respecting and enhancing the historic Art Nouveau building and genius loci of the place.

A Great Opportunity for Municipal Palace

The study deals with the reconstruction and new functional use of the castle in Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou. He is currently unused and disillusioned. The owner of the castle is the town of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou. City leadership takes steps to save the building. The proposal takes into account the city's wishes regarding the use of the building and the arrangement of dispositions is designed to meet today's operational requirements. The design tries to highlight the architectural values of the castle and offers a dignified use of this monument.

The Use Optimization of Kuřim Chateau

The study deals with the reconstruction of a suitable functional use of the castle in Kuřim. It is currently used primarily as a training facility with other plants - gallery, a café and accommodation. The proposal takes account of these operations, the arrangement Available with trying to meet today's requirements for operation. Architectural design highlights the architectural value of the castle and offers a decent use of this monument.

The Creative Centre Brno-Cejl

The main purpose of this project is reconstruction former penitentiary for a Creative Centre. The lokation is in Brno, between Cejl streer, Bratislavská street and Soudní street. The main idea of this project is „make the place with incubators for young architects, creativ persons and designers. The building program is adapted to the historical essence and construction and technical situacion of this building. There are designed spaces for their creations, exhibions, distributions and auctions of their artistic products. The idea of concept contains too the space for lectures, workshops, seminars, courses and untraditional educational projects, visual and acustic and different productions. There is too the possibility of short-term accommondation in attic. The part of this object is reserved for dancing lessons. All these spaces are designed for a rent. There are designed too new entrance spaces, parking places, technical equipment and facilities. The inseparable part of this project are inner atriums, entrance spaces and contunuity on public street spaces and communications. The complex of Creative centre is without mobile roofing and without covered passages. The main idea of this complex is to preserve the main square mass with the central wing, and is to clean up the less historical insignia extensions of the Cejl street and of the Bratislavská street. From the constructional poit of view consists this buiding two aboveground floors with used attic. The attic is coved with gabled roof made of interlocking tiles. The complex is based on stone basis with bearing wall made from full of burnt brick. The ceilings are made of wooden beams with arches of full of burnt brick. At the present the complex is without permanent using. The part of this complex was sold in personal property. Thermal comfort analysis and energy assessment of a historic building

Objective of this thesis is presenting a comprehensive analysis of a climate inside a building, ways of obtaining and analysing weather data, measuring certain quantities inside the building and evaluating the energy efficiency of buildings. The experimental part deals with a historical building in Prague. Weather data and interior data logger readings are analysed to create a model in the BSim program, which is calibrated to a high degree of accuracy. Summer outcomes are discussed; the building meets regulatory requirements. In addition, an Energy Performance Certificate is issued. Structural and technical modifications are proposed in order to reduce solar heat gains, thus achieving an annual energy saving of 1671 kWh.

Building Information Model (BIM) visualization capabilities in the Unreal Engine gaming environment

This bachelor thesis deals with creating of an information model and subsequent visualizations of sv. Cyril and Metoděj chapel in Brno Bohunice, based on data obtained predominantly by laser scanning. The theoretical part of thesis deals with description of concepts related to an information model and description of methods used for obtaining such data for its creation. The practical part describes the usage of methods for data collection, process of creating the informational model and creation of visualizations. The outputs of the thesis are model and visualizations of the chapel.

Návrh interiéru kavárny v historickém objektu

The main goal of this thesis is design and realization of the new café in the historical building in Kromeriz. The first part of the thesis focus history of coffee houses, the current trends of cafés and there are also theoretical knowledge, standards ergonomics, safety and other important issues which café environment requires. The second part describes building modifications of the interior including specific legislation for building modifications in the historic building. The next part of the thesis deals with the complete design of a new café, including design of atypical furniture elements. The final design is demonstrated by photo documentation.
